Tottenham Hotspur. Relegation?

Doesn’t look right, does it? Following a 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest. Tottenham Hotspur sit 17th in the Premier League, a point above West Ham United. The defeat wasn’t only 3 points lost, it signalled the harsh reality that we are getting closer and closer to being relegated. With 7 games left, it’s hard to tell where our first Premier League win of 2026 comes from. With our injuries mounting up and our days continuing to be numbered, I feel all Spurs fans are dreading the end of the season, and with the recent news of Igor Tudor on the verge of stepping down as manager, there’s almost nothing to hope for at this point. Dare I say it, Tottenham Hotspur are going to need a miracle to pluck themselves out of this hole.

It’s hard to pinpoint where to start with only 7 games to go, with 19 days till we play our next Premier League game against Sunderland. I guess the only positive news is that we could have Mohammed Kudus back from injury, as he was the main focal point of our attack in the first half of the season before his injury, but a big problem I’ve found is how we react to adverse things happening in games. Whether it’s a call going against us, one of our players gets sent off or going a goal behind, the way we react to these situations is always so passive, like we seem up for it until something goes against us, and I think that’s what I miss about Ange is he would always fire us on to stick to the gameplan when things went wrong and they followed him because he had that influence on the players, so that issue comes down to the manager, which as it stands we could have a new one in the coming days.

Another BIG issue is players stepping up when we need them the most. Some of our best players have shied away when we need them to put in excellent performances or to galvanise the players. The two big culprits are Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, making rookie mistakes on defence, which have led to goals conceded or red cards. When you see your defenders doing stuff like that, it doesn’t set a good example for the rest of the team, and we’ve had to deal with that in this crucial period. So let’s look at who HAS stepped up for us since Thomas Franks dismissal. Mathys Tel, a player whose growth was stunted by Frank, has shown why he should’ve been a mainstay on that left wing. His willingness and ability to take players on and create chances are something we’ve needed, especially since Kudus and Odobert got injured. We’re going to need to see more output from him in these final 7 games. Richarlison is another one whose stepped up. Having experienced the pressure of a relegation fight, he knows how crucial points are and what is expected when you need to pick up results. Now the main player who has stepped up is none other than Archie Gray. The most versatile player in the team has shown why the midfield is his sanctuary. Having played at centre-back and full-back for the majority of his Spurs career, he’s now starting to receive his flowers for his performances in midfield, most recently against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. He’s the one player whose always putting in a performance when we need him to, and if we stay in the Premier League, he has to be a starter.

Look, whatever happens this season is going to be a painful watch, but I am going to be there every step of the way because until it’s confirmed, I still believe we can stay up, we are far too good to go down, and I’ll be damned if this team feel so sorry for themselves that they are willing to give up and not fight for this club, for the fans and for each other because we are Tottenham Hotspur and we will not go down without a fight. GOYS.
